Emily Flora, MS, RYT-200 is a Holistic Health Practitioner and Wellness Coach specializing in mental wellness and brain health. She is an outdoor and snowboard educator, bringing her love for nature and movement to her practice. Emily combines her expertise in psychology, mental wellness, holistic nutritional approaches & herbal remedies, wellness & life coaching, and nature’s healing to guide you to become your own healer for mental wellness, brain health, focus, and energy challenges. She believes the mind and body are deeply connected and that healing lies in our own bodies, mind, medicinal plants, and nature.

Emily’s approach is influenced by the following modalities: strengths-based approaches, positive psychology, life coaching, solution-focused and transformational coaching, mindfulness, functional nutrition principles, healing herbs and wild foods, somatic and emotional techniques, and insights from Medical Medium® information when clients are interested. She is also trained and licensed as a mental health and pediatric occupational therapist.

She currently resides in the PNW in the Columbia River Gorge. She lives with her husband, Chris, and their two fur babies, Cinder and Archie. In her free time, you can find Emily walking in the woods, snowboarding, biking, surfing, with friends or family, foraging for medicinal foods, making plant-based recipes from scratch, juicing, gardening, or sitting by one of her favorite rivers. You’ll definitely catch her drinking coconut water or eating potatoes (her favorites!).

About Me

My Healing Journey

Have you ever heard the phrase, “be the person the younger version of yourself needed?” Well, that’s exactly what led me into my current career (in a not-so-linear fashion). After experiencing significant emotional trauma in high-school, my whole world changed. Not knowing how to cope or what my body needed during this time, I developed devastating emotional, mental, and later physical, symptoms.

I could no longer see the person I used to be. I experienced the emotional and physical impacts of trauma - from the way it shaped my thoughts to the dis-ease that began to emerge in my body. I experienced misalignment in my values and felt incredibly disconnected from myself. I developed debilitating anxiety and a deep depression. I also experienced periods of depersonalization and hopelessness throughout this time. My body no longer had the same resilience it did before this emotional event.

After many years of trialing a variety of healing modalities, but never fully recovering, in 2022 I developed Long-Covid. I could barely get out of bed for months, and I worked with countless doctors and health practitioners to find any relief from my symptoms. Depression and devastating anxiety creeped back into my life, alongside diagnoses of Neurological Lyme Disease, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Adrenal Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, hormone imbalance, and many other mystery symptoms. I could no longer live the active and full life that I had created for myself. I am grateful for my Taurus energy that kicked in, as I was determined to heal from these debilitating experiences.

I spent the next year and a half searching for relief. I tried everything: conventional medicine, functional medicine doctors, naturopathic medicine doctors, RDs, hormone specialists, acupuncture, and bio-hacking. I would find occasional, brief relief, but none of the suggested interventions moved the needle.

In the spring of 2023, I discovered Medical Medium® protocols when my now husband bought me a juicer for my birthday. I searched for a book on juicing, and came across Cleanse to Heal by Anthony William. The information immediately resonated on a deep soul-level, and I told myself that I would try this lifestyle for two weeks and see how I was feeling. To my surprise, my energy, focus, and health quickly began to return. For the first time in years, I started to feel like myself again, and I haven’t looked back since.

I have spent the greater part of the last 20 years learning more about the human experience, mental health, brain health, western and eastern approaches to medicine and the mind, and ways to recover from deep emotional and physical wounds. I have learned that symptoms are a sign that our body is out of alignment and is in need of deep support. I used to be so ashamed of this story - I now view my healing journey as the source of my greatest power and inner knowing.

My own healing has been my greatest teacher. Flora Holistic is the culmination of a lifetime of healing, learning, growing, and lifting up others through my own challenges.
